How is this cushion?

Hi all,

I am helping a friend find a diamond for an engagement ring and wanted to see what you all thought about this cushion?

Any help or alternatives would be super helpful! He's looking for a cushion cut, ~1.3 - ~1.5 around $6500-7000.

Do you have an image (and preferably a video) of the actual diamond, as well as the rest of the specs (color and clarity preference, elongated or square, time frame, is this including the price of the setting)...need more info!

Its a I, VS2, 1.41 CT. Symmetry and Polish are VG.

I think he'd like something a bit more elongated than square and with the setting around $8k. This one has a ratio of 1.09.

Personally I think its ok...I think you could find better. More red outside the table, more symmetry of red in the center and less of
the gray mush area just inside the table. I can handle some mush around the table as long as the center is strong but this center
doesnt look that strong to me.

agree with Tyty, its not bad- it doesn't face up particularly large or small (based on what i pulled up from the GIA report the size is 6.74 x 6.1 Price wise its right in line based on the specs. Where is this stone from? What is his timeline to purchase?

Also, what kind of setting does he want? for 1500 I am assuming a solitaire with maybe some pave on the sides?

I haven't seen any particular stunning elongated cushions in a while...i saw a few with extra large tables which I like when the facets are really nice, but not sure if your friend would be interested . LOVE this last one Tyty, but is it it juts me or does the pic make it look square vs. elongated?

i always feel like ASETs on this type of cushion are either fine or just bad. I have only ever seen amazing, clear winners on those cut for light performance (like AVCs). Thats why, personally, I find videos and in person viewing so critical when buying cushions. That ASET on a cushion is like the HCA tool for a round- it can help you weed out terrible ones but you can have two stones that are totally different looks/ feels which have similar ASET results - if that makes sense.

All of this side, IDJ is very good at picking stones so if they are saying this one is a winner, even with the just ok ASET it may look amazing in person. Yekutial has a very good eye and fair pricing, so I don't think it would be an issue to go with the one you already picked. He can also sometimes get other stones, so if you like any of these since they are with drop shippers see if he can bring in so he can judge in person which is better.

Ask IDJ to get that 1.5 in and compare it to the other one. It's also my fav and has the largest face up size, which is a nice bonus.

I was having problems with ED images ...some of the pictures looked elongated to me but when I pulled the aset up it was more of a square stone (plus checked the ratio)...not sure why that was happening.

Here is a picture of the relative size/shape difference of the 1.5 elongated vs a squarish 1.5 that I found...size 6 1/2 finger, 2mm shank
