Is there a specific scale to measure cut, brilliance, etc or something to be done by personal preference?

You can measure cut by angles and millimeters. There are various systems that can help you understand the numbers. HCA and AGA are the primary ones. All of these parametric driven systems are screening tools to help eliminate bad stones and help find potentially great ones.

You can predict Light Behavior with other technology. Several are mentioned in various postings in Pricescope.

All of us that are involved in these various, competing technologies have biases as to which we'd recommend, but to be fair, all of these systems have relative merit and are an improvement over the old "trust me" method.
