How important is cut in a channel-set sidestone?

I am planning to reset my 1.40 E VS2 princess cut in a princess cut channel-set platinum band.

I know cut is crucial in a center stone, and I suspect the same is true of sidestones; however, when they are little channel-set diamonds, how important is it really? What should I know before resetting?
