How important are polish and symmetry?

Hello --

Do you consider polish and symmetry scores important determinants of a well cut stone? What scores would you say are acceptable for a cushion cut? Is "good" a low score? And, which would you say is more important to have, excellent polish, or excellent symmetry?

Dear Robyn,
Funny - just asked almost the same exact question! Hopefully we'll get enough combined answers to our question. You might also want to search the old threads. I found good info, but not enough to answer my specific question.

One thing the pros will ask for are the sarin results, so might want to start with requesting one if you haven't yet.
