I had some renderings done of a custom engagement ring. I received very positive and useful feedback on the ring. In particular there was much discussion over the setting being too high possibly. I did get it lowered slightly, 1 or 2 mm based on that feedback.
So, that lead to my questions, how high is too high and how high is your setting?
I calculated the height of the ring to be from the top of the finger to the top of the table on the centre stone. I think it would also be useful to have some basic information on the ring such as size of ring, carat size of centre stone and height of setting as calculated above. This thread is meant to be a compilation of actual heights, comments and other useful tips for any future engagement ring buyers who are dealing with this issue as I am right now.
I will start, based on the renderings I had made up.
Ring Size: 4.25
Centre Stone: 1.0 carat round brilliant
Height: 6 mm
