First time posting here and getting overwhelmed by all the details. I am looking for a diamond that will sparkle and look nice. I came across this one and it seems good, but nervous since I am not able to see it in person. It has a HCA of 0.9 and AGA total grade of 1B. I do not have an ASET image. I know that the clarity is overkill, but in trying to find something a little bigger in carat and knocking down the clarity is scaring based on plots, especially without seeing it in person. I am looking to have it placed in a AJAFFE setting.

As a trade member I may not comment on individual diamonds. I will say this in genereal.

The HCA is a tool used to decide when a diamond is worth further consideration. With a score of 0.9, this diamond is worthy of further consideration. The HCA is NOT a selection tool, and cannot be used to tell you if this is a great buy or not.

You will get a lot of great information from the prosumers here, who have come, learned and stayed to help others. Enjoy your journey!

The crown angle is a bit on the high side...as is the depth. But could look good...seeing IS or ASET would really be helpful to determine if there is leakage.

Thank you for your input. I searched using “ideal” proportions and it does fit into those, but I know what you mean. I asked my boyfriend to request the IS or ASET image, but we will see. I know he is annoyed with my going back and forth and so many questions!

The jeweler said that he only has the hearts and arrows images for this diamond. I do not know much about them, but here they are.

IMO, With the depth of 62.5% you are losing a bit in diameter. I'd prefer my RB to be b/t 61.4 - 61.9%. ..that just me..;))

I think I would like a little bit more table, but every other diamond I looked at (with dropping the clarity) falls outside of the “ideal proportions” and scores badly on HCA. I know it is to be used as a tool to weed out so when a score is above two, I am like nope.

There is another diamond that is slightly bigger and cheaper, but has a very strong blue fluorescence. With buying blind, I am nervous about that. If it were a solitaire, I would not mind as much, but since it will be surrounded by other diamond, I do not want it to look off. The jeweler says it is not milky and looks great. It scored better on HCA than the one above, but AGA has it as a 4A, which is not good.
