I am no expert but it looks beautiful to my eyes. I like the step pattern and the windmills are a good proportion.

What is the table percentage? It says 60.8% on the website. It says 69.1% on the Diamond Analysis. You might want to ask GOG about it.

I like it too.
I'd buy it.

You better put it on hold asap before someone else scoops it up!

+1

We often see diamonds that get thumbs up vanish since lurkers buy it before the OP can.
I'd at least put it on hold.

This one got GOG's lifetime guarantee, which IMHO means it is cut well enough so they wouldn't mind taking it back some day.
I view this as one seal of approval in asschers, which are hard to evaluate.

The video looks a lot better than the ASET.
Viewed really close it might be a bit dark but overall looks ok.

Karl, what about the ASET could look better?
Im not arguing; I just want to learn.
I've read everything here, and still, clear understandable specific useful Asscher-picking education is lacking IMHO.

Hi Kenny,
less large blue areas would be better in the ASET.
However blue in ASET doesn't directly translate to real world obstruction.
ie: the obstruction(blue) in ASET does not model the real world.
It can however point to potential issues which is why I like video.
More red around the edges would also be better.
But again that does not translate directly into the real world.

I'm sure it means something to you, an expert.
But for the rest of us (or at least, ME) . . . what does this mean?

Often the smartest most expert people in a field have no clue when they loose people because what they write is perfectly understandable to them.
To communicate with us you have to temporarily suspend your understanding of the field and pretend you know nothing about it.
This is a very common dilemma brilliant people bump up against. (Frankly, this is a compliment)

From the video, I think it will knock your socks off in person. Nice price too... just under 2 carat discount.

I think G VS2 are perfect grades for asscher value.

Very eye clean and white, but not higher grades which drives the price up without much difference in appearance.

thanks for the responses, I looked at a few asschers from ERD yesterday. I think the 2.0 carats were more like 18k, so this seems like a good deal. This is my first diamond purchase, and I really have no clue what Im looking for, other than what i have gleaned for this site. It doesnt seem like they have too many asschers on hand at GoG, but this one fit the bill nicely. Does anyone have other recs for sourcing asschers?

Hi Kenny,
Thank you for the kind words :}
I thought I explained it: ie: the obstruction(blue) in ASET does not model the real world.
but in other words.
Obstruction in the real world is not a uniform round blue disk in front of the diamond.
It is much more varied and dynamic.

You could have this one sent to you unmounted if your in the US, view it in many lighting conditions and see if you love it.
Then send it back for mounting.
The only added expense would be shipping charges.

I'd buy it and carry it around in the NY diamond district and compare it's contrast, scintillation, 3D hall of mirrors effect and general light performance to every other asscher you can find.

I'll bet you will not only realize you are holding the best-cut asscher you will find but also at the best price too.
Comparing diamonds in person side by side is the ultimate way to buy.

If I'm wrong you have time to return it for a full refund.

I think GOG walk in customers get a 10-day return period but Internet customers get a 30-day if it is one of their diamonds that have a lifetime guarantee, which your's has.
Please check these time periods though; I could be wrong.
Also shipping out of state means GOG will may not add the sales tax on.

GOG will let you do whatever you need to. The diamond is lovely. I think you should go play with it in all kinds of light and see if it speaks to you. If it catches your heart you'll know. Fancies are that way. And if it doesn't you'll know that too.
