I've just started playing around with the demo version of DiamCalc. I've used the data from a Sarin report I have for an oval diamond and it comes back with an AGA quaility of 2A (for a Marquise - the only available shape on the demo, but the pricescope tutorial has the same parameters for both Oval and Marquise). When I look under the Advanced tab I see a setting for "Lower facets". When I set that to anything under 75% or over 90% the quality goes from 2A to 4B. I guess I have 2 questions.
1. How would I find out what the lower facet % is for the diamond in question?
2. How does the value really effect the apperance of the diamond?
I have noticed that by playing with this value it slightly changes the carat value of the diamond. By using this logic I think the diamond I'm looking at is slightly under 75%.
Thanks
