How do you make a British/milky tea?

Zojirushi suggests lemon juice from concentrate so you don’t have pulp and seeds.

1. Put 1 package of citric acid CD-K03E in a cup and add warm water to dissolve. Pour it into the inner container and fill with water to the maximum water level line. The cleaner may also be substituted with 1/2 cup of lemon juice from concentrate. If using freshly squeezed lemon juice, please be sure to strain first, so the pulp does not get caught in the pump and damage the boiler.

2. Close the upper lid, insert the power plug and press and hold the REBOIL button for more than 3 seconds. This will activate the descaling mode.

3. Once cleaning completes, unplug the power plug, detach the upper lid and dispose water where indicated "EMPTY FROM HERE."

4. To remove the smell of citric acid, fill the inner container with water. Boil and dispense about a cup of hot water, allow to cool, then dispose the remaining water.

thank you
will do this in a few minutes

I will only drink Red Rose tea with milk and sugar.

please what did they do with the lenons ?
i have a huge lemon tree to go with a huge hard water problem
i get flakes of lime the size of coins out of our jug

They would cut a lemon in half, toss it into their hot water dispenser, and let it come to a boil. Let that sit, discard the contents, boil more water to clear out the smell and taste, then use dispenser as usual.

100% and anyone who disagrees is just wrong.
This is Fact.
:geek:

they can put a man on the moon but won't use an electric jug :mrgreen2:
its not very often i give our American friends a hard time but this is one of them

do you know how often they did this ?
was it preventative or the cure ?

It was to remove the mineral buildup in the water dispenser. I don’t know how often they did it, but my guess is whenever the buildup started bugging them!

I don't make a British/milky tea.
It doesn't sound appealing to me, and I don't eat sugar.

On the rare occasions I want tea, I microwave a 2-cup coffee mug till water boils.
Drop in tea, stir, wait, then drink.
No milk or sugar.

That said my SO drinks iced sun tea daily.

My favorite tea recipe :
in a pot boil 1 cup water with 1 tsp loose tea (or a teabag ) for a few minutes with cardamom , cinnamon , dash of nutmeg , ginger . then add 1/4 cup of evaporated milk .boil for a minute then strain , add sugar if wanted .

I used to work with a man from Pakistan and his wife would bring a hot kettle to work filled with milk tea. I wish I had been smart enough to ask how they made it. To this day (it's been nearly 20 years) I can remember how it tastes. I've never had it the same way since then.

why don't Americans just use electric jugs ?

They do sell those here but our electricity makes them take longer to boil so it's less of a convenience.

I use a battered old stovetop kettle and pour the boiled water over loose leaf Ceylon in a strainer basket. Steep 3-4m then a splash of milk and 1 tsp sugar. Yum.

My mind was literally BLOWN by the video  I truly pray it was a piss-take.... Who doesn't own a kettle? WTF microwaving water... :snooty:

Tea:
1. boil kettle
2. warm teapot
3. Add spoons of tea leaves
4. Add boiled water
5. Leave to steep for 3-4 mins
6. Strain into mug, add milk & sugar is desired.

I'm not sure if you're trying to be helpful or snarky :) I'm sure Google does, I was just being nostalgic about the one time I really enjoyed hot tea.

Look into their milks!!!! Could be the milk!

I adore Thai milk tea and the secret was evaporated milk!!!! For years I could not make it taste like the restaurants until I was told about evaporated milk.
