Hi! All of you seem so knowledgeable about everything!

I went to the jeweler to get my ring sized and the only problem I have
with getting a smaller size is that it makes my finger fat looking and
it leaves a dent on my finger from wearing it.

It's like when you wear a really tight skirt and your fat rolls over
it. That's how I think it looks like. lol. Yes, the salesman was
laughing at me.

But the dent is also incredibly noticeable. He was concerned about
making sure the ring doesn't fall off. I was more concerned about how
it left a mark on my finger.

My question is...is having a dent normal? Does having the dent mean
it's too tight?

Thanks for helping! I appreciate it!

LOL! All I can say is that I don't like the "dented" look and it seems uncomfortable. I don't have a dent. I do have sizing balls in my ring to keep it from spinning.

I think that is a very valid question to ask. I have asked about sizing my ring and gotten a variety of responses. What I have learned is that everyone is different about how tight they want their ring. My jewler likes her almost loose, while I want to have to push mine slightly to get it over my knuckle. I say go with what makes you comfortable. Also think about whether your fingers swell in the summer like a lot of peoples do. If it is already tight, it may be very uncomfortable with any swelling of your fingers (that's my nursing input of the day!

If your finger turns purple, your ring size is too small.
