How do you inlay a metal into a recess of stainless steel?

There's an incuse pattern on 316L stainless steel, and I wanted to add say titanium into the recesses of that stainless steel somehow. Then, after the titanium sets, I wanted to get the whole thing polished. What process would allow me to add titanium to the recesses of stainless steel? I'm also concerned about the heat changing the color too deep into the metal, even after polishing.

Thanks in advance!

That sounds like a question for a metalworking forum! :D

I presume that over-sizing the titanium slightly and then heating the SS ring before inserting the Ti would mean that when the ring shrank, the Ti would effectively be a friction-fit, but I'm sure there are chemical processes that would be more secure!
