How do they keep the diamond from falling out, on this prongless setting?

There are actually tiny prongs that if you look closely, you will see them. Each individual diamond melee sits in a "hole" of sorts and has tiny prongs that look like beads holding them in place together with the metal seat carved into the setting.

Ditto.... I just want to say that I love your screen name!! Ferris Bueller rocks!!

Yes, I meant for the large diamond though, how are they keeping that one in?

TIA

It is bezel set, which means a thin lip of metal rund around the perimeter of the diamond holding it in place.

Interesting, so that strip is lifted up, the diamond is set in, and then the strip is pressed down?

How do they get it so there aren''t any creases or breaks in it?

TIA

That''s pretty much it.

As for the creases, I''ll leave that to the true experts to explain.

Metal is heated when it is worked with and becomes pliable, I think that explains the creases.

What's with all the technical questions??

The heat won''t discolor the diamond at all?

I know that some metals get a rainbow color if they are exposed to high heat.

TIA
