How do they keep the diamond from falling out, on this prongless setting?

There are actually tiny prongs that if you look closely, you will see them. Each individual diamond melee sits in a ''hole'' of sorts and has tiny prongs that look like beads holding them in place together with the metal seat carved into the setting.
Metal is heated when it is worked with and becomes pliable, I think that explains the creases.Date: 7/3/2009 9:48:02 AM

Interesting, so that strip is lifted up, the diamond is set in, and then the strip is pressed down?
How do they get it so there aren't any creases or breaks in it?
TIA
