Background: I've lived in the suburbs of Toronto for most of my life and had never really used the Transit in the heart of the city.

I decided to go back to school and the course I wanted wasn't offered in my burb; only in T.O.

It was orientation day. I was on the subway and a visually impaired lady gets up and asks, "Can somebody please help me get to Rosedale station?". Everybody looks around and grimaces.

Nobody moves.... Rosedale is coming up next.... So I decided that since everyone else was gonna be an a$$ I'd help her... I was so PI$$ED that no one even budged
29.gif
so I got up and helped her off the train and onto the proper bus platform....

Great! I go my merry way to my orientation. A friend then called me and invited me to a Qui.xtar meeting and since I missed her terribly & hadn't seen her in aeons I decided to go.... But how da heck was I sposed to get to Wilson station from where I was at???? I don't know Toronto like that

!

Panning around at who I could ask that wasn't rolling by so fast it looked like they were on wheels, I spotted him

He was sitting down and didn't have a scowl on his face, and appeared to be tapping his foot to a steady beat, LOL...

I approached him, asked for directions, and left with his email addy. His approach was so smooth I didn't even realize I had been hit on until later that week when in an email reply he told me that WHEN (no, not if, but when) he saw me again, he would like it if I looked just as intelligent as I did that day

I was taken aback at how SURE he was that he was gonna see me again, but secretly I found his confidence UBER attractive.

We met for lunch about two weeks later and the rest is history!

Me likey some him

The SO and I were on the same marathon training team. It was about 3 months into our 4 month program when one day he started running beside me. I had no idea he was even on the team since I was always faster than him on all the prior training runs.

I had amazing floor seats for a basketball game for the same night and I had NO ONE to go with. I didn''t want to miss it and so after chatting with him I thought, "Eh, this guy seems harmless. Why not?" So I asked him to go with me as friends. This was not as a date.

That night when he picked me up, I knew I was wrong. It was just so date-y and I even had butterflies. That was over 5 years ago!

His version:
I asked him out.

Well, mine is a bit of a long story.
...
He then invited me to a rugby 7's event which is this really big once-a-year social event in HK, you know, a game which is really an excuse for young (and sometimes older) people to get really stupidly drunk and generally merry. Well, the rest is history.

So you married a rugby tragic as well Phoenix! What nationality is he?
I had no idea, but rugby guys (some of them I guess) really can make the best husbands, it seems!

He had a summer internship in the the town where my alma mater is located (we were both students at the time - I stayed on campus for summer classes), and he went to high school with one of my best friends from college, so we met through mutual friends.

I met mu DH on night duty when he came up to see a patient I thought was going to die (she was terminal). He was charming and a bit show offy talking about having just got back from skiing trip.
At 3 am in the morning when I called him back to certify the patient when she had died he was anything but charming!
Two weeks later I called for an intern when and I will never forget his name Mr Eime my patient was coughing up some serious crud and back he came charming and asked me out.
So....... my DH always says we really met over Mr Eime sputum cup lol.
I had just one month before come out of the most dysfunctional long term relationship in which I was engaged (as in bought the dress but no ring) but found out my fiance was STILL living with ex lover.
I weighed 47 kilos and had cried me river and then I met my dear dear man.
26 years later here we are.

I often said to hubby and other people that if we could get a dollar for every second he thinks abt rugby, we'd be gazillionaires!! (Mind you, this was before PS and now he says the same thing abt me and PS/ bling!! LOL).

He's actually American but he's an Anglophile. He lives and breathes rugby, has tons of English friends and married me - a Brit!

Rugby blokes, in my experience, are very down to earth. I think they take their aggression out on the field (you should see some of my hubby's "war injuries" LOL!), so when they come home, they're as sweet and thoughtful as can be.

Don't even get me started on those gorgeous legs rugby players have!!

What does yr hubby play, full-fledged rugby or touch? Mine has resorted to touch since he's nearing his big FIVE-OH (yeah, that's right, OH as in OH OHH!!

). Have to love a rugged rugger!!

(BTW, looooveee yr wedding photo! If you don't mind my asking, is yr hubby very tall too? Mine is 6'4" and I'm a mere 5'2" - well, actually 5' 1 3/4 " if I'm really honest
