yes let''s contact the mod...and October sounds fine. Nothing like the city in the Fall!

done! have contacted them and asked them to forward you my email address.

hope they do! :)

ditto!

We had dinner at the place where we were married. We do this every year. I think your party sounds like a blast.

Haven, I tried googling that shirt for over an hour last night. Are you making it? or did you see it somewhere?

Our 1st anniversary is on Sunday. We are just going out to dinner at one of our favorite restaurants on Saturday night, and spending the day at Disneyland on Sunday. Having my husband only working part time right now (due to the economy) and having a baby on the way meant we needed to do something cheap. We''ve got a coupon for our dinner, and we have season passes to Disney, so that will be free.

If we had more money, I would have liked to have spent the night in the suite that we spent our wedding night in, even though it is right down the street from our house. But the suite is over $400 per night, so I guess we''re staying home

First off, Happy Anniversary!!!

For our 1st, hubby was in the midst of a 15th month deployment to the Middle East, but he managed to get his R&R changed to dates that included our anniversary! Hubby planned a full "date day" to include shopping a movie and dinner at our favorite restaurant. I was so happy he was able to even be home for it, that was present enough!!!

Haven that sounds like so much fun!

If we could, I would love to celebrate with family and friends. But as we just moved very far away and know no one here, it''ll be just us. I don''t know what we''ll do, but as I''m very pregnant, we might just hang out and spend time together at home while eating the top layer of our wedding cake.

our daughter was born on our first anniversary! So celebration was dinner and exchange of cards.....a month later (i was still wearing my maternity pants!).

your party sounds like a lot of fun haven---I imagine your anniveraries will always be big celebrations since it falls on july 4th! hope you post some pics!

We were in Venice, wrapping up a 30th birthday/1st anniversary trip.

Happy early anniversary, it sounds like you guys are going to have a blast!

Thank you for your replies, everyone.
I adore reading about what everyone did, it''s so fun to see how different people celebrate their marriage.

Mere--Here are some of those shirts:
Option 1
Option 2
Option 3

I''m not sure if I really want to wear one of those, because there are so many other great t-shirts out there. I have to buy one soon, though--any suggestions?

I also really love the shirts on Snorg Tees and Kosher Ham. They''re so funny!

Keep sharing, ladies. I need good ideas for future anniversaries!

We did a couple of things. At our one year anniversary our son was 6 months old, so we actually wanted to go away for a long weekend without him for the first time. So, my DH flew my mom up to our area to watch him and we got a romantic room at our favorite beach for 3 nights, where we had a fancy dinner on the night of our anni. Also, since the first year gift is traditionally paper, I got us tickets to go see Harry Connick Jr. (my DH secretly loves his music ;)

We took a trip to one of our favorite getaways. Nothing fancy, just some ''us'' time.

A huge 4th of July bash sounds like a lot of fun!

I think you''re 4th of July party sounds great! I love the idea of a "Inappropriately Funny T-Shirt Party". That is a fantastic idea!! Happy 1 yr. anni Haven!! We don''t do anything fancy or romantic for our anniversary. We were married almost 3 yrs ago (our 3rd is coming up) in Telluride, CO. I''ve been going out there that same week for 19 yrs. now so we''re always out there with family for our anniversary. We spend the time destressing, lots hiking, eating out at great restaurants and just getting back in touch with the beauty of the mountains and nature. It''s such a wonderful week!! We don''t really feel that we need anything more... it''s just so us!

Happy Anniversary Haven! It sounds like fun!

We went back to the restaurant we went to on our 1 year anniversary of dating... The night we got engaged. Then home to "ahem"...."celebrate"...

Happy Anniversary Haven -- isn''t it amazing how fast a year goes? Next thing you will turn around and it will be your 5, then 10......

We went back to Italy for our one year anniversary and stayed where we went for our honeymoon, and added Northern Italy
.... but no Italian vaca''s since kids came along!!!!

Thank you all for your anniversary wishes!

Everyone did really nice things, I love reading about them.

I WISH we could go back to our honeymoon spot, but we don''t want to leave the furbabies for so long right now. Maybe next year.

The time does go by quickly, doesn''t it?

Sounds fun! My hubby was away on a business trip on our first anniversary. We were both in graduate school, maintaining our careers and preparing to buy our first house. I only remember that we ate the top tier of our wedding cake. We probably went out to dinner too. How sad it is that I can''t remember...this was last July!

Is it bad that I don''t remember what we did for our 1st anniversary?

I know what we got for each other, but I can''t for the life of me, remember where we went to celebrate - probably just spent it at home, since we had just moved into our new house.

For our 2nd anniversary, we went to Italy for 2 weeks, and it was amazing. We''re going back for our 5th, if I can convince DH that it''s worth it!
