I think you did great! Those are gorgeous rings and they are even more special because you had them designed just for her!!! I am glad that you got some input from her though but I think you have interpreted her wishes very nicely. Please come back with some hand shots for us.
this is the power point I made for the jeweler with what i wanted. pretty cool deal overall. he hand made my mother''s ring, she had him make my dad''s ring, and now my lovely''s will be hand made by him.
the diamond is a .47 round 4.89mm, all of that doesn''t matter to me at all. my grandmother was diagnosed with RA in 1981. doctors told her and my grandad that she would lose the strenth in her hands and her fingers would curl up and so she couldn''t wear her diamond anymore. doc told grandad she wouldn''t be strong enough. he got upset and went to ft smith and bought her a 1.0 carat diamond, put it on a necklace and told her "they didn''t say anything about your neck!" this floored grandma and so she had her old diamond put in a men''s ring and gave it to grandad. that is the diamond I put in this ring...more love in between those 4.89 milimeters than a mile
WOW! Cool story. Yeah, that is a priceless stone. What a blessing to carry on with it! They way you revere it speaks volumes to the character they instilled in you.
On to the design...you hit all design elements she requested. I am sure she will love it! Maybe you should quit your day job and start designing jewelry! Rest assured she will find the ring to be all her hearts desire. The halo makes it look much larger and it is just lovely.
Just for chuckles...the actual slipping on of the ring isn't the big deal here...it is what you call your small finger. Hubby refuses any form of pink...or derivative thereof. So he has no pinkies...if you talk to your football coach...you can confess to sliding the ring on...just say you used the smallest finger on your hand. Whew. Saved you on that point! You can thank me later!

EDITED: PS. Oh dear, I just reread that YOU ARE A COLLEGE COACH? Oh boy. We've got some work ahead of us. Abolish pink!!
PSS. Is your OKLA reference in your name a hint to your state?
should i give her the folded up/wrinkled powerpoint that i gave the jeweler? would she appreciate it ya think? also, thanks to yall for the encouragement.
as for the ring designing, if itll help win football games i''m all ears
It is beautiful you did a wonderful job on designing it! As for the story, that is just precious...I am sure that the story behind the diamond will be worth more than anything else!
Congratulations and, not that your pinky isn''t lovely, please come back with handshots after you propose
