For reasons I won't go into, my first diamond fell through. My timeline was already set.

I regrouped and went with my second choice stone. Slightly smaller, but otherwise very similar. Moved from Whiteflash ACA to Brian Gavin. Spread decreased .3 mm. Cost went down.

So far, really excited and enjoyed the overall experience. Engagement proposal in motion for Saturday. I've hired a pro photographer for the day. The engagement will take place slopeside at Squaw Valley. Champagne is chillin' as I write this.

yes, my setting is from BGD and my center stone is from a local jeweler. It is easy to recognize the BGD background in avatars!

Thanks for the feedback. I came to the right place and have been educated quickly by the fine folks here.
On to the photos...
I think the glamor pics could have been better lit. The diamond lacked any light in their shots.

Luckily I can shoot the stone myself soon enough.
