how consumer go about sending stone in for GIA cert

Is it cheaper to have a dealer or jewelry store send stone in and get GIA cer? How can one be sure if store won't switch your stone?

If consumer can send in themselves via registered mail, How do they go about doing it? Send it to GIA address, and how can one be sure it doesn't get lost in the process even when GIA received it? etc. etc.

I would suggest calling GIA for more information. I'm sure that if you send it registered mail, you can pay to get a return receipt.
