Can anyone tell me how I can find out who makes this setting?

I spoke with Blue Nile, and they will not sell me the setting alone or tell me who manufactures it.

Please help, I gf simply adores this setting, and each one I have found is similar, but is slightly different enough that I don''t think she would be as happy as if she got the one from BN.

The specs of this ring are as follows:
18kt White Gold
46 stones
0.84ct weight

Any info or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Have you considered having it custom done to get it as close to the BN ring as possible? I''ve found some that are similar, but not exactly the same so I''m not sure if that would help you. What were the main differences that you saw in the other rings that you think she may not like? I''ll go and look at settings for you and see if I could find a few that''s close to what you want but if all else fails, custom work is the way to go.

Hi Lucky,

Thanks for doing a search for me. The James Allen is close, and I wish it was more similar, since that''s where my stone is from.

The one from ID is close, but there are not enough views for me to tell for sure.

The one from BN is unique, because of the shape of the shank as it approaches the center stone. If you look closely, it is almost more of a cathedral shape, which is why the diamonds are graduated.

I know it is a small detail, but I really feel it gives the setting from BN a real finished look

Also, this setting from BN has a platinum head and a pretty significant ct weight to it, which was why I was hoping to locate the identical setting somewhere else.

I''ll reach out to James Allen though, since they claim they can do custom work to an existing setting. Do you think that it is better to have the whole ring made custom then instead?

I always think that if you can''t get exactly what you want already manufactured, then have it specifically made to exactly what you want. You could even change it up a little bit if you want to. That''s probably going to be the best thing to do in your case. OR you can purchase a really small diamond from BN with that setting, have it sent to you, take smaller diamond out, and put her real diamond in it locally. This will make BN''s warranty null and void though if you go this route. My brother liked a setting from BN as well but it was just way to many loops to be able to get it since he already had his diamond purchased as well. I know what you''re going through, jpoon. Do you have time constraints? If not you can also keep looking?

Hey Lucky,

No time constraints I also contacted Maytal Hannah today, and sent her the setting to get a quote. My only fear is that I will be paying much more going this route. Hopefully it won''t be as bad as I am expecting.

I''ve also opened up my possiblilties to Robbins Brothers for the setting. I know I might get flamed on PS for that statement, but my thought process is based on the fact that this is a pave setting, and from what I hear, it is only a matter of time before a stone falls out.

With that in mind, I know RB''s in-store insurance policy will cover the setting should any stones fall out. I figured if I could charm them a little, I might be able to get them to create a vested interest in my ring with them.

Nonetheless..... the search will still continue....

Any input or advice regrading the Robbins Bros. or other b&m store regarding the fact that this would be a pave setting and would possibly benefit from the maintenance and replacement policy on the setting stones?
