What do you think? It is a Cushion Brilliant, and is $2316 for the Pricescope cost. I am waiting on the official GIA report, but I did get a mini-report. The vendor says it is "eye-clean".
The specs are:
Cushion Brilliant
Size: 6.37x5.82x3.57
Weight: 1.07 Carat
Color: J
Clarity: SI2
Depth: 61.3%
Table: 62%
Girdle: STK to ETK, F
Cutlet: NON
Polish: Very Good
Symmetry: Very Good
Fluorescense: None

Note: I dont have the money to get a perfect diamond, I am just trying to figure out if my girl will think it is "pretty". :)

I would want a face-up picture and ASET. I think it looks pretty positive so far.

Are they going to give you an ASET picture by chance? And will she mind a bit of warmth to the stone? Fancy cuts tend to show a bit more color, this cushion won't appear "white".

Sorry, got a phone call while typing, said some of the same!

I have requested a face-up and ASET picture. Hopefully they can do that.

I dont think she will mind if the stone has some warmth. Her only direction was to go with something over .50 carat, as her last husband got her a 1/3 carat solitaire. :)

Here is the setting I am going with:

Ok, just make sure to ask WF if the color difference between the main stone and melee will be noticeable.

Looks to be good so far. In addition to the ASET, I''d like a straight down view looking at the table for the facet pattern and to see the inclusion. Oops, I see that JulieN has already suggested that. Yes, a J cushion will show some warmth.

Yup, in light of the recent thread about the center stone looking tinted compared to the high coloured melee.

I have asked the question, and I am currently waiting on a response.

In the meantime, if the color difference IS noticeable, which do you think would look better with this stone(on a girl with a 4.75 finger)?
The Legato Slim-Line:

Or the W-Prong:

Boy, that''s tough, I like them both!

I honestly can''t decide.

Which one looks more like "her", can you tell?

I LOVE the Legato slim line! If I didn''t go custom, that would be my first choice. It''s such a fluid and beautiful setting.

She prefers thinner settings, so it would probably be the legato. It is roughly 1mm thinner.

I prefer the legato because of the softer feminine look.

Yeah, it''s really not a lot thinner, but yet the overall look of the ring is. So I''d go with that one, considering her preference.

I''m a fan of thicker bands also, so I like the W prong too.

Ok, here is what they sent me back for the face-up shot:

Here is the ASET. There is no white, just mainly Reds, Greens, and a little blue. That is good, right?

Ok, here is the response regarding the melee:

Honestly no there will not be a huge difference. Firstly you diamond does provide nice light return and so is brilliant. Also the melee are approximately 0.035 cts each. They will be lively and sparkly but not cause your center diamond to be warm.

But, with the responses above I am questioning if I should stay with the Legato Shared Prong, or go with the Legato Slim. Thoughts? Which would this diamond look better with?

Here is a link that explains ASET pics.

This one does not look too bad. A small amount of leakage towards the middle, but I''m not an expert, and don''t know how much visually it would mean. If WF says it''s a nice, bright, well performing stone, then it looks like it may be the one. (ask)

And as for the melee, they make rings all the time, so if they say it would be fine, I think it would.
