how about a moissanite alternative ring? any advice?

I know most PSers only care about top notch quality real diamonds, but i have had the idea for a while to get an alternative ring when i dont feel like wearing the actual rings, or when i do stuff that might damage the rings. anyone here have the experience with moissannite?

one big concern is do they look real? i checked a couple websites, and found so many different moissy names, such as amora moissanite, amora gem, forever brilliant, asha, etc etc...i am totally confused.

I also wonder if the major PS jewelers would make settings for the moissanite?

anyone can give some moissanite-instruction? i will appreciate it so much!

I don't believe we are allowed to talk about that on this site, it is after all a diamond website. I think you might get more of a response if you go to diamondbistro and their discussion forum.
A great option that many choose is a colored stone for an engagement ring, sapphires are extremely popular, you should check out the colored stone forum.

Not to me.The ones I saw looks greenish in color.

I dont get the appeal of fake rings when you can't wear your real ones. Why not just buy a few stacking bands in gold, or a rolling ring. Something nice and low key and won't get damaged.

the greenish tint is a known issue with moissy that df mentions, forever brilliant moissy is supposed to be better. I would ask wink at winkcz.com, a ps vendor known here as high performance diamonds. Those other forum sites can help u determine a good travel ring alternative. my travel ring is an asha, btw, but I wish I had just gone with wink and saved. Many retailers will sell u a setting, but some wont. So ask if there's a setting u adore. If that vendor cant, there are many sleuths here that can find great alternates, I've been seriously amazed at what other posters can find.

I prefer wearing a plain band over a synthetic or simulant ring, but that's just me.
