Oh you bet. All hoyas come from around the equator and Australia. They adore humidity. Are you familiar with hoyas? If not, Google. It will knock your socks off!

Thanks! I am not familiar with Hoyas but will Google them. They are so wonderful. It is the first time I saw it from your post. :kiss2:

My grandma had a hoya, i forget which one - a big leaved one

after she died my aunty took it in and it adored her sunny island between the kitchen and living room where it got direct sunlight for 3/4 of the day
it flowered its heart out !

I have a whole basement room dedicated to house plants that I grow under grow lights. I put them in the breezeway in the summer. I only have two displayed in the house. This is one of them. It was given to me in the fall by a friend who got it from their friend but both didn't really want it. It was two spindly vines in the fall.

It is now my "monster" vine. I feed it whey and the growth light is on a timer. The growth light acts like a nightlight because it subtly lights up the hallway between two bedrooms and the bathroom. :) Ignore the spider in the corner by the ceiling. I am going to net him with a fish net and take him outside later. After coffee. I can't even before coffee.

This money tree plant was given to me by a friend because it was doing poorly. It never has taken off and I don't know what I am doing wrong. I put it under a hanging growth light for 4 hours a night and the leaves burned. The growth light is 30 inches above. It doesn't like chlorinated water. It gets new leaves and sheds old leaves just as quick. I think maybe it likes to be root bound and repotting it in the fall is causing the problems? Not sure. Any advice is welcome. I just started feeding it whey that the other plants love. It will probably hate it. BTW- the dead tree branches are just there for visual interest- not part of of the plant.

Here are some of my plants that have been removed from the basement and are now in the breezeway. I have some really big ones I need to photograph and show you all later. The ferns are 8 years old.

I have a new addition, Tradescantia zebrina. The foliage is just striking I couldn’t resist.

It's a room that connects the house to the garage. :)

It sounds so much more exotic how you say it :appl:

Unfortunately how our garage was placed has pretty much stuffed a lot of options for good indoor outdoor floor and we might have to resort to a 1960s patio (that we will roof) off the lounge just so you can still drive into the 2nd door of the garage and still access the back yard with a vehicle if need be

I think i love the term Breeze way (compaired to outdoor cat sun lounge)
I may have to borrow it !
I know tomatoes will do very well into the winter in there !

I’ve been a naughty girl, I’ve added another 2 plants to my plant family. A begonia and philodendron. They were on sale at Bunnings so how could I resist:lol:. They were marked down because they were the remaining plants from their Mothers Day gifts. 2624A1DF-5C25-4E54-BA62-C163193C1465.jpeg

Love the begonia
Reminds me of my grandma (not the Aspidestra Grandma - the other one)

So last night I discovered that my Philodendron Florida has grown a flower. I didn’t even know they flowered! I did a quick Google search and apparently it can take some 15 odd years before they flower! My plant is definitely not that mature but I’m delighted it has flowered. Apparently you can try to pollinate and grow more plants as the flower contains both male and female parts, so guess what I tried to do .
Time will tell if I managed to pollinate it and the flower doesn’t drop off and grows seeds. FB330D8B-0BDD-44B3-B68A-F3C344D42FF8.jpeg 116AEDD5-360F-44E8-9302-7D53414A4EDC.jpeg
