Household Steam Cleaner for Micro Pave Cleaning

What are your thoughts on using on of the household steam cleaning products (i.e. shark...the steam mops for the kitchen etc). Some of these have attachments that are handheld and I figured I could use it to clean a diamond ring...

My plan was to lay the ring on a towel and then just aim the highflow steam at the diamond...then dry.

Has anyone tried this?

I know that the jewelers use steam when they clean your rings. Pave needs a bit of extra care when cleaning but I don't think that steam will disturb the pave.

IMO I wouldn't use steam cleaners on pave set diamonds. I think the safest method is just soak them is warm dish soap water or jewelry cleaner and carefully using a soft baby tooth brush on the diamond when necessary.
