I have been loving looking at some of the PS members hot pink stones. I have seen some gorgeous tourmalines and even some pinky rubies full of silk that are just stunning.
My dream stone is a hot pink namya spinel but that requires serious $$$$

What do Ps members think is the ultimate hot pink stone ? Purely so I can internet research

These are mine from Jeff White.

This round Sapphire was bought as a cut stone at Tucson earlier this year, and re-cut by Jeff (it looks nicer in the video he sent me).

This cushion is a small Baringo Ruby cut from an old stock rough that Jeff had stashed away for a few years.

This is a Mahenge Spinel, another of his Tucson 2020 finds:

I LOVE hot/deep pinks!

Pink sapphire! Beautiful and durable so you don't have to baby it or worry it will chip with regular wear.

I love pink sapphire and have a pink sapphire oval ring on my long term wish list or even project list.. I purchased these dainty pink sapphire earrings eons ago because of their "pinkiness". But as the years went by I fell out of love with the earring style itself, not the stone. So sadly they see very little wear by me. I plan to repurpose the sapphire for my eternity ring project, if I can. 20201015_184145.jpg

@Bron357 your sapphire is just the thing gorgeous colour

also looks like spinels will remain my fave for a long time:lol-2: those neon pinks are hard to beat and so saturated but I know expensive.

maybe I should reach out to Jeff White about a mahenge stone? Any other recommendations?
I don’t know a lot about sapphires any know someone they can recommend for pink sapphires?

Rubies can be hot pink. See mineral specimen above in daylight and artificial light, although IRL it's closest to the second photo. Glows like mad in LW UV too.

However, I think the most vivid hot pink stones are the top quality spinels from Mahenge.

I’ve seen hot pink sapphires and hot pink spinels. Both are gorgeous. Oh and some tourmalines are glowing pink too.

All nice. Personally I find it hard to choose a favorite. I’ll love them all, but preference to saturated sapphires and spinels.

So if you come across any and the price is right, just grab.

@Pennyc Jeff W has a vast rough inventory that is not listed on his website.

It is worth contacting him to enquire what he has in hot pink colour, together with some indication of your budget, and take it from there.

I bought a pink/red spinel sparkle bomb a month or so ago. It glows indoors. I’m trying to remember the PSer’s handle to give credit where it’s due, but can’t remember (I know her first name but won’t use it here for privacy). The larger band is a handmade with tiny Burma rubies. I’m going to reset the spinel, but here it is in its current state. FA5D72F1-E432-4D0E-BC1D-937346F20B1A.jpeg

Not mine but some memorable ones...

Mahenge spinel

Burmese sapphire

Unbelievable color irl. Really glowing.

Tho I’m not sure the mahenge is hot pink but irl the color was absolutely stunning. So that’s what I meant by the saturated ones. Unsaturated hot pinks are a bit more affordable.

@Sunshinelab I’m so glad you replied! I searched all of my emails and couldn’t find your ps name. I’ll be posting a separate thread for the rebuild now that I can give you credit. BTW it is an amazing stone!

I can’t wait to see it! It really is amazing!

I freaking love pink gems. Like you, I’d love a big, hot pink Namya but they are so freaking expensive!

I do actually have one tiny little Namya. It’s the center stone in this ring and is about 4mm.

Three of my spinel rings. The top two are reddish pink and the bottom one is a straight pink.

Is it bad when you have to keep going back to edit because you forgot to add one? :lol-2:

Does origin really matter? Unless you are like me and specifically collect spinel from different locations..... You can get the same hot pinks from other regions in Burma, and from Vietnam and Mahenge (Africa).
