I originally picked up the spinels as earrings from Athenaworth. Then I picked up the diamond in a crazy halo ring from Fortekitty. And I sat on the idea for about a year, thinking about a five stone and adding some small diamonds onto the ends...

Then MakingTheGrade dropped the Lazare Kaplan platinum and 18kt yellow gold setting onto LoupeTroop that would fit the three stones perfectly. That jerk. :naughty:

.56ct
5.5mm
OMC
jeweler estimated J color
girdle is pretty chipped, so likely an I2, although the diamond itself is pretty clean

Spinels 4.2mm each, .50ctw

Size 6.

It's funny how PS's upload system changes pics. Oh well.

The angle of the setting means that when I look straight down, I tend to see both tilt windows, but that just means I play with it more to look at them without the tilt windows! :naughty:

My earrings wanted to play too. OMCs as well, but an entirely different breed.

Also, both bands are old mine cuts as well.

Thanks for looking!!!!!!

Totally gorgeous - what else is there to say? I'm sooooo envious!

Freke, an addition to your spectacular beauties! I'm impressed with your creativeness in putting it all together. Gorgeous! Looks really rich with the bands too.

Out of all the great pics, I like the poolside the best! Awesome job on pulling together a great project!

I know, right?!! She is constantly getting things used and saying such and such would be perfect for this and that, and I'm left in the dust going "huh?' Then she pulls it all together and Kapow! I get it!

Thanks Laurie! I'm really excited at how good it looks with my shared prong band, especially.

Creativeness, but not necessarily mine! I will attach a pic of the inspiration ring.

Thanks X! Well, everything is better poolside! Too bad it's too cold to get in there now. Bah! It's really my favorite place to take photos though.

I'm laughing at how grainy those pics are. Sorry about that guys!

Previous ideas! (The different colored stones are various sizes I was trying out to play with proportions.)

Fantastic ring!!! Between this and Chrono's AVC and spinel ring, I am lusting after this combo big time. It's stunning!

Gorgeous, and perfectly proportioned! An all-Pricescope piece! 8-)

Man, I really envy your bravery. Great ring.

Love it. Very professional, like it was all planned from the beginning.

Freke, I am SO flattered that one of my pieces was an inspiration for this beautiful new creation of yours! Some months ago, you mentioned there was a piece of mine you hoped to replicate one day, and I was truly beside myself with curiosity as to which one.

You did FABULOUS with this piece - it looks amazing on your hand, and I think of all your photos below of potential ideas, you chose to execute the best idea. Nicely done!

Lovely! Isn't it nice when things just work out?

Your three stone is gorgeous!!! Mahenges+old cuts=AMAZING!

I will say that I find this to be an extremely sophisticated talent. Not the part about knowing the colors would look good together - because I think most of us can do that - but the knowing what the setting needed in side stone dimensions, finding something that was similar, and being able to envision them sufficiently to be confident that it would work very well. I am not trying to belittle myself, but I can assure you that if I were to try and do this, I would have forgotten to account for the prongs, or the stone depth, or that the side stones darkened too much when set, or....you get the picture.

Some day I will try and Freke, I expect you to hold my hand just as you would your child and guide me all the way through... ;))

Indeed! Even more so that I originally revealed, as Alj's gorgeous 5 stone was the original inspiration. Thank you!

Alj! I wasn't going to out you, but you did it yourself! Thank you for posting the inspiration - your ring really is so amazing and drool worthy! It was a looooong time ago that I mentioned that, wasn't it? This is it! Thank you for the inspiration and for your lovely compliments!

Yes! Absolutely! I don't typically love yellow gold, but I think for this project, it was perfect with the hot pink.

Thank you!

You flatter me too much MB! Thank you.

Any time you need me to hold your hand through a setting project, I'm there. Especially because it means you'll have to set something!

I do not. Someone needs to smack some sense into you so that you realize your talent and get started on becoming the world famous jewelry designer you were meant to be.

And yeah, I admit to having a problem in the (lack of) setting department... :(sad

SO pretty! The color of those Mahenges really pops.
