Which is more important to book first? I know flights are limited, but one of the hotels I am looking at has a sale on rates right now through next Sunday so I was wondering if I should book that then pick a flight. Thanks!

we booked hotel first. mainly because flight prices weren''t out yet, we booked a few months ago for our July honeymoon.

long time no speak! I was in Singapore again for 2 weeks and before that not logging onto PS much.

usually book hotel first. you can cancel a hotel booking almost up to 24 hours. however, not sure about cancellation policy for the deal you want. if it''s still a way to go, your honeymoon doesn''t fall during a major holiday or school vacation or any other big world sports event that''s happening nearby, you won''t have problems booking flights later.

if you''re really worried, just go onto a website and see if flights are still available for those dates.

if you''re traveling somewhere remote which requires a lot of transfers, it might be difficult to ascertain if you''d arrive the same day or the next and at what time.

just a few things to consider, but I think you''re ok to book the hotel in advance. if you go via a travel agency, you might be able to get a good deal on hotel + flights package.

For every holiday D and I go on we book the flights first and then the hotels and we''ve done the same with our honeymoon also.

I always book the flights first. That way, if your first choice dates aren't available you don't have to re-do the hotel reservation. Sometimes you also see that changing your flight by one day results in a huge cost decrease.

Also, if the hotel is no longer having the sale, I would talk to them and tell them you saw the sale and you are wondering if you can have the sale price even though the sale is over. In this economy, chances are they will do everything they can to book rooms, even at a discount. This depends on where you are going, of course.

Remember to purchase travel insurance if you're traveling outside the U.S.!
