Well, since I have been in 11, yes, I said 11! weddings, I have had my fair share of ugly gowns. I in fact just donated several of them to Goodwill...I should've taken a picture of them all together before I let them go!

Most of the ugly ones were very shiny satin...just say no to shiny satin, I say!

A few were lovely, and one in particular, while I never did get to wear it as an outfit again, I did get to use the black backless velvet tuxedo halter top as part of a little Playboy Bunny Halloween costume I threw together at the last minute years ago! I wore it when I was 19 and still have it in hopes of being a bunny one of these years again! I am determined to get more use out of that dang thing!

Unfortunately, I only have pix of my previous BM dresses and the bunny costume on old film/hard copy pictures, but I may have to try my hand at scanning again so that you can see the possibilities that abound from BM dresses!

For my girls, I bought them their dresses at ROSS...there are two styles as shown below, and one of the wider strapped dresses (on the left) has been made into a halter and one of the spaghetti strap dresses (on the right) will be criss-crossed in the back so that all 4 dresses are different, yet the same.

The girls all loved them, which surprised me, but they do seem to flatter all of their figures and the color is good for all of them, which are 2 blondes, a brunette and a redhead. Who knows, maybe they just liked them because they don't have to pay for them and I told them to throw them away when they're done with them for all I care!

Here is a picture of the 2 styles of dresses with the men's shirt in the middle:

ETA: I did have my MOH and one of the bridesmaids try the dresses on and asked for their honest opinions before I settled on them. I then sent my other bridesmaid both styles to choose from and she liked them both, too, so it worked out all around!

From what I have seen, some brides just have very bad taste.
Okay it was all fun and games until I got to the tattoos and skanks page. I think their comments about tattoo''s are a BIT harsh and of course they pick the worst tattoo''ed people I''ve ever seen. Pft. If ''bad choices'' = crap tattoos then i''m in agreement, if ''bad choices'' = tattoos period, then double pft! \\

Here''s a link to some beautiful tattoo''ed ladies that my photographer took for a wedding, that''s part of what drew me to pick him in the first place!

Sorry to threadjack...

My bridesmaids picked their own dresses, they picked their own colors too working within the palette I liked. They even helped pick out the color of the guys ties. I let them have a lot of creative control since they''re wearing the stuff and they have impeccable taste. Theyre going to look gorgeous!
They''ll be wearing this dress in watermelon shantung sill with a magenta sash: http://www.siriinc.com/br-9449.html, cut to be knee length. (ignore the siri color swatches, i dont know what they were thinking when posting those colors, egads, they are way better in person and not so whacky looking)

violet02, I love the photos on the blog. I really like that the groom had a peacock feather in his hand/pocket.

and then I like that the bride and groom were in white and the groomsmen were all in black and the bridesmaids in red. fantastic the way they coordinated this! and you are right, very tasteful with the tattoos.

Agreed. We''ll see a part of my sister''s tattoo on her back and I''m not asking her to cover it up. I''m definitely going to flash my ankle tattoo for a few pics! If people have a problem with it, it''s - well, it''s their problem.
