Honest Opinion on this setting??

Can you all give me your honest opinon on this setting?
I am looking at purchsing this ring and putting a 1.10 princess cut stone in it

maybe it''s the lighting...the prongs look gold but the rest looks platinum? I have nothing to offer as far as quality, but on just plain old design/looks - love it.

Too clunky for my taste. If you''re going to go with a delicate setting, I think the prongs and the setting need to be more delicate too.

The ring looks great!
The prongs are fine. I might only suggest rounding the edges off of the head. Turn the prongs into beads. Just part if setting your stone.

I really like the concept, but I agree about the prongs. A Jaffe makes a similar setting that I looked at- here is the pic.

You asked for honest, right? Are you belted in?

When I first started my search for a setting, that was the site I continued to return to. Then I found this forum, began looking at the other options available. And now when I return to that site, everything looks clumsy to me. Kinda thick, crude, not refined. Pull up other styles and you will see the weld joints really stand out. It is a shame, because I am sure there is a fix for it. These are afterall the images that represent their craftmanship, which were not strong enough for me to pull the trigger.

On a positive note, I do appreciate the hand model, manicure, and time invested in the same exact pose over and over. If this were a beauty salon site showcasing their skills, I would get my nails done there!

If you have the time...I urge you to follow the links, options and advice on similar settings this helpful board will give you. Then return to this site and make an educated decision on your purchase.

) I think I am going to go with the Legatto setting from whiteflash...Now...should I go with Platinum or the 18k gold or 14k gold? What do you feel is the best for your money?

Prongs seem a bit clunky. While I do like the style, it''s hard to say how well it''s made - I couldn''t seem to find any bigger pictures than that little one on the page.
