Did you guys see the liquid flower tanzanite on Uli's front page? 5.96 cts, 11.5mm of swirly purple-blue yumminess. I kind of want to know how much it is, but it has to be $$$...

Uli is very reasonable. If you like it, why not ask him for the pricing.

Because there's no way on this green earth that a precision-cut almost 6 ct tanzanite of good color would be under $200-300, which is my limit for colored stones. I'm ok with just staring at it from afar. :wink2:

It is beautiful!

Oh that is gorgeous!!!! Normally I'm not a huge fan of the liquid flower cut but really that is just stunning. My MIL's 60th b-day is this year and tanzanite is her favorite stone...I wonder if she would like this?

I love how the colors seem to separate out into each of the 3 swirls. It's mesmerizing. It would certainly make a unique birthday gift!

Talk about fluid - that is beautiful. I wonder if he knew it would turn out so, so well, for lack of a better word, liquid?!

oh wow... that's a beauty indeed....

Uli already got back to me- wow that man is fast. This is the first time I have ever emailed him and I have to say he is one of the nicest vendors ever. The tanzanite is acutally already sold. It doesn't matter to me because it was more money then I wanted to spend on my MIL for her 60th. But still, I will definitely bookmark his site and look at future purchases from him....honestly what a doll. :appl:

I've never seen that before. It's GORGEOUS!!

Mesmerizing is just what I thought, too. I need to see more of this cut.

Wow, what a stunner. I keep forgetting about Uli's site!

Sarahbear, have you seen the latest tanzanites on Gene's page? I'm lusting over the second one, but any of these might make a nice gift for your MIL:

Oh those are lovely and no I hadn't seen any of them. However, I don't think the color will work for it. She likes the deep saturated tanzanite. The first one is almost the right color though. However, I personally love the last one for me :cheeky:

yummy for realz

Uli is a very nice vendor and an amazing cutter. My feeling is that his "flowers" look best in lighter stones, such as ametrines or citrines. It just so happens that you may not see the effect fully in more saturated stones. Plus, the softness of the tanzanite could restrict the types of available settings. But it looks beautiful and yes, one should have at least a couple of his stones as examples of what a gemcutter may achieve.

Tanzanite rough in that color is plentiful I would think. How about asking Uli to cut you a smaller stone in that shape????? He might do work on commission.

Wow, I've never seen anything like that. Where have you been liquid flower?

Haha, do I hear some enabling? :cheeky: I already have a small liquid flower sapphire and am satisfied with that, and I'm trying not to buy too many more gems these days. But thanks for the thought!

*jawdrop*

I don't know what I'd do with that if I had it, but I sure would like to have it! Whoever buys it is a lucky person!

I'm going to need several towels to wipe up the puddle of drool that is forming on my desk...
