Not my ring unfortunatelyThis one is tough, I think I like the plat bezel. For me, my eye finds the solid wall of color more pleasing--ie no rose gold which would add contrast. Octo's ring pushed me over to that side....
That's a pretty halo!
Because of our shank design, rose gold will be at the top of it. Given that, would you still say rose gold on the outside of the halo or would your opinion change to the bezel?
This is a tough one. Usually when one does a yellow or rose gold bezel, it is because they desire some of the color to be seen in the stone. Caysie has done a platinum ring with rose gold bezel before, but the one I recall had about an L light brownish tone stone. I do not love the halo to be in rose gold, so I'd go for the bezel if you need rose gold on the top of the ring. I'd just ask Caysie if they can plate the inside of the bezel with rhodium or something. I'd consider no rose gold on the top, though.
I didn't know that! But now, thinking clearly about rings, it makes sense. So that option is out then as I just don't like rose gold halos on diamonds. It's weird! I'm a huge fan of rose gold (have been wearing it for a number of years in a number of different pieces), but I just have never liked it as the entire halo of a diamond ring. I guess I could always add another layer of metal under the halo and have it stick out slightly so the rose gold could be seen, but I think that's getting too bulky. The thing is, the bezel is usually a separate piece of metal from the halo. The halo is cast as a whole. So you can't just have the outer edge of the halo rose gold unless, I guess, it is somehow plated. If you look at a lot of settings, either the halo is rose gold, or the bezel is rose gold. I'd still go for #1 if Caysie says they can plate the inside of the bezel with rhodium (or anything white). I would not do #2 anyway because that edge would just blend into the shank.
