Cats are very wise (at times) and also quite discerning. Their love is never guaranteed nor a sure thing. We have to work for it


By the way, in my case, "collecting rescues and ferals" I think is genetic. Mom and dad take in all the strays and the true ferals are given shelterin their house whenever they want it. They leave a door for them to come and go as they please into one room. My old bedroom. I have to say I admire my parents greatly who truly sacrifice for the feral cats and rescue as many as they can. At their age it is quite the feat IMO. I love my parents so much. Their hearts are pure and good.
