I am not sure if I am posting this in the correct forum, but I have a question pertaining to a new setting I am having made. It will have a yellow gold shank with a platinum head. For those of you with yellow gold, @mrs-b ?, do you prefer 14k gold or 18k gold? It will not be worn everyday.

I love 18 kt yellow gold!

They have a different tone to them, so you need to see which appeals to you, your skin tone, etc. 18k is softer, but it sounds like you know that.

For me - always 18kt. It's a richer look, and 14kt can look a little colorless. I also find 18kt more flattering against virtually every skin tone - tho horses for courses!

Then it is decided - I will go with the 18k gold! Thank you ladies for your input!
