The picture of the Aset Scope was taken too far away so I believe a lot of light leaked through and made some of the reds a little lighter than what I saw in person.

This is a picture that he snapped. I couldn't get any good pictures myself. Unfortunately I got there when it was dark and had no sunlight to see in natural day light

He also mentioned that I will not have an official GIA certificate as it will not come with it. He said he will print it from the website and give it to me. I found that strange also.

I'm not an expert on fancy cut stones so keep that in mind. But, I'm not crazy about the stone. There are lots of mushy areas in the ASET and a seeming lack of symmetry. Also, I don't see the kind of light return I want to see in any diamond. I assume the photo is taken in a jewelry store? If so it should look its best.

As far as the certificate goes, I agree that's strange.

Most lab diamonds do not have GIA certs at all.

Lab grown diamonds don't come with a GIA Certificate if they're GIA certified?

GIA issues lab grown diamond reports, but they do not grade cut on lab growns and a lab grown report is not the same as a natural diamond GIA report. Most lab grown diamonds come with IGI or GCAL certs because GIA wouldn't evaluate them at all until very recently.

I think GIA does grade cut, but ONLY for round, same goes with natural diamonds. I read that they've been grading lab growns since 2007. I also did see an official GIA report on a lab grown before, but I'm astonished why this jeweler couldn't provide the stone with one. I think I will just patiently wait for Jann Paul to respond to my inquiry and go from there. I'm in no rush.

GIA had been grading lab stones for a while, but not in the traditional sense providing the same level of detail as they were for natural. That changed recently, within the last year, they are now providing the same grading report details as they do with natural mined diamonds and industry standards I guess you could say (?)

I only know Jann Paul from youtube, they seem super legit, weird that they wouldn't have the official cert to provide you, however if the laser inscription on the diamond matches the GIA cert they show you, the details on the report should match the characteristics of the stone. Not sure that I would accept a print out though, I'm sure they are in a position to pay for a replacement GIA cert.

If you lookup the GIA report directly, it also states on this specific stone there is a laser inscription: Bring some kind of loop with you, or ask to borrow theirs the next time you see it. Also-some jewelers don't want to pay for the hard copy and opt out of that feature to save money. In this case it would have cost them an extra $110. You can always order one for yourself providing the laser inscription matches and it is what they say it is.
