I am looking at a ring from a private seller. I'm really only interested in the emerald cut diamond but it also has two round and two bagettes in the platinum ring setting. Since she doesn't have the cert papers I had a gemologist look at it today. Here are the numbers, what do you think?
1.18 VS2, I
6.9mm length, 5.3 width, 3.6 depth
Girdle - thin
table: approx 77%
total depth 68%
length to width ratio 1.3 to 1.00
polish/symmetry: good
I'm concerned with the high number on the table, I'm afraid that the reflectivity won't be so good but I'm an untrained eye. Today it was appraised for $7100, he said it would probably retail for $5500. She's selling the whole ring for $3500. Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
Drew
