HI:

A few years ago I set a raspberry tourmaline into a ring--simple bezel/24K. It is time for a reset. I will return to the same vendor who did the original (as I want to trade in the heavy 24K mount); but I'll need a picture to accompnay my request. Again, I'll be using 24K.

Thing is, I am having trouble finding the inspiration--the Vera Wang, twisted (rope like) split shank setting that I originally saw holding a huge Morganite. Not unlike something David Yurman might make without a bezel or halo.

Can anyone help me out with pictures or a link? Thank you in advance.

Hey CG
Were you wondering how to get the picture to your jeweller or just musing?

Are you going local?

Sharon,
That''s a great design! Will 24kt be strong enough though in such an open setting?

HI:

Yes G, I am using my fav jewellers in "Chinatown"; they made the original. I am wondering how to print something--I need a profile shot for sure. I thought prinitng from a website would be easy--but I cannot find what I want.

cheers--Sharon

HI:

Good question Chrono--I am a bit of a smasharooni; do you think it might easily bend? (even if ithe basket is substantial?) Would 22K be better?

cheers--Sharon

If you get the right alloy, 22kt will be a better choice. I have a 22kt plain rope ring and it took all my banging well. It never went out of round either which I attribute to both the alloy and rope design.
