Hey all,
Hopefully you can provide some guidance for a guy on a budget. I've decided on a solitaire engagement ring with an oval diamond.
I've used the specs here (https://www.pricescope.com/wiki/diamonds/oval-cut-diamond) to narrow down the search, however that still leaves nearly 40 diamonds:

As mentioned I'm on a budget - as it's a solitaire setting the band should be fairly affordable, some initial looking it seems to be around $400 for a band. I'm hoping to stick relatively close to a $2000 budget which, depending on the setting probably leaves a max of around $1700 for the diamond though if there's something that will look brilliant for less, that would certainly be ideal.
Not after a big stone, .75 as a max. Therefore I'm looking between .65 and .75 carats, but given the relatively small range I'm not sure how much difference there will be, visually. With ovals having different ratios, it's so hard to tell, but will there even be a noticeable difference between say .75 and .69?
If it helps (and if you have any ideas for settings, that would be great too) the band will be 14k white gold, thin (<2mm), with a slightly higher setting (to minimize gap between oval engagement ring and wedding band).
Summary of requirements:
Budget: $2k including solitaire setting (est. $1200-1700 for diamond)
Diamond: oval
Carat: .65 - .75
Table: 65%-70%
Depth: 59% to 63%
LW Ratio: 1.33-1.66
Polish/Symmetry: Excellent - good
