Help with oval sapphire reset!

My original ER setting was a Tacori (when Tacori was the rage and before SK and VC became popular) with tapered baguettes (I had SK change the prongs of the Tacori setting to double prongs when he made my halo). When I had my diamond oval reset into a SK halo, I purchased the sapphire to replace it based on measurement specs alone. I had zero knowledge about sapphires despite having access to PS (shame on me for not requesting help from the colored stone experts!).

Anyway, I was thinking about resetting my sapphire into my SK halo, but was wondering if the SK halo would accommodate the sapphire. Here are the specs:
Sapphire: 8.78x6.84x4.71
Diamond: 8.56x6.77x4.21

What do you think? Is it worth the reset? I know the sapphire may not PS worthy, but I'd hate to waste the money I spent on it. The sapphire ring has barely seen the light of day and I think I might wear it more in the SK halo.

Both rings are beautiful! I think that your sapphire will most likely fit the SK halo setting, but you should just send a note to SK and ask him, he will be able to tell you. What will you do with your oval diamond?

I was thinking about having my local jeweler reset it as I don't want to send the rings to the east coast when I live in the SF Bay area. Plus, nice as Steven is, he didn't respond to a prior email re: resizing my SK ring.

As for the diamond, I plan to list it for sale or reset it in an east-west pendant.

I think so too. Just worried about the depth and slight length and width differences.

*I have to clarify that the Tacori was actually my second ER setting. My first ER was a MRB solitaire. It was soo long ago, my brain forgot about it.

Sapphire is a 2.36 carat untreated "royal blue" (per seller description). Confirmed with AGL that the sapphire was untreated.

Diamond is 1.67 G VS1.
