Hi everyone, new to the forum and have spent hours browsing already, and I am about to pull the trigger on a Oval Diamond this week and was hoping for some advice.

I was able to secure a great find (I think) for a 2.15 ct F VS1 oval for $6k CAD, and was hoping for some opinions on whether this stone is worth it for this price point. I have a budget of $5k - $8k for a 2 - 2.25 ct Oval similar specs as this one, if anyone also has any similar recommendations.

This is a CVD stone and I really struggle seeing the imperfections online when it comes to these things in the large carats. The report and video is below!

The video:

This one caught my eye, and with this being HPHT I've read it's relatively superior to the CVD method, and I did read into the defects that can be present in both as highlighted in https://www.diamondscreener.com/edu...o-look-for-when-buying-a-lab-created-diamond/

However, even with comparing these over video, is the only way to truly tell is to see them in person?

While I am far from an oval cut expert, I think the diamond you have selected is lovely , and the price is very fair.

I did find this one, 2.22 ct, F, VS2, for $4,574, but in the videos it seems to have *slightly* more of a bow tie.

That bow tie would annoy me

I’ll preface this by saying I am definitely not an expert on oval cuts. The first one you posted is lovely but I wonder if the facets are a bit mushy? If there’s a good return policy and you have time, you can always see for yourself!

These are some others that caught eye

I agree, it is more prominent in that diamond but good comparison nonetheless.

Just curious your input on the stone initially mentioned compared to say:

Also, with the mention of "may contain post-growth treatment" on the IGI certificates, anything to be concerned of?

So, I'm probably one of the odd ones out here on this forum - post growth treatment that is permanent and does not negatively affect the visuals of the diamond don't bother me.

For comparison - I have a *slight* preference for your original diamond, because I don't like where the inclusion on the table is on this one (unless you can't see it in real life). If it is eye clean in real life, I'd still pick the first one because I like big rocks. :D

It's arriving next week, with a flexible return policy from Ritani, so hoping that it lives up to expectations! Wonder what you meant by mushy facets?

Thanks for the recommendations, realizing there are so many options it can be pretty overwhelming going the online route.
