Hello, first i'd like to say this is my first post but i've been reading on here for awhile to help me gather info and y'all have been quite helpful.

I purchased an e-ring for my girlfriend or soon to be fiance and wanted to get some opinions on it.

The is a picture of the ring that I took on my hand outside, I haven't photoshopped or anything and just wanted to get some opinions on how it stands up to it's 4 C's. Like if the cut or the color look how they should or better or worse then they should. For example a bunch of people told me in J stones u can see some yellow but when I found this stone and saw it in person I couldn't see any. Does this look like a typical J colored stone?

It's a 2.17 carat center stone
Measurements: 8.40 x 8.39
Ideal cut
J color
Si2 clarity

Thanks everyone for the help, it is much appreciated.img_42851.jpg

PS. Sorry for my giant hands in the picture, but when she tried it on the diamond was bigger than her finger lol but she has no idea I actually bought it.

Also I hope I put this in the right section.

It looks beautiful! If it is ideal cut, then the diamond should be fine! J stones will face up fairly white. You bought the ring in her size, right?

Thanks! And yes, those pictures were taken outside of the jewelry store on the setting they currently had it in but the jeweler ordered the same setting in her size and will be placing it in it. I forgot what size the current setting was but it was on the larger size but the setting that it will be in is a size 4 which is her size.

Does the stone from the image appear to be J color to the best you can tell?

Also thanks so much for your response!

Also I wanted to add I get a little confused because I am new to the whole diamond thing and the cut was not ideal but excellent. Does that make a large difference?

I got the ring from a very close family friend who owns a 3rd generation jewelry store and has been in the business for about 25 years and supposedly I got a very good deal on it and from all the price comparisons I have done over the last few months I believe I did.
