Hi all,

I posted a thread the other day regarding my diamond and it’s lack of fire. I got an ideal scope today and I have taken some images and would love to hear your thoughts on them.

I’m starting to believe that the diamond I purchased really isn’t as good as what I was made to think it was. Would really appreciate your feedback. Cheers

There is nothing wrong. The Idealscope image is as expected: flawless. As I mentioned, it is all about lighting.
To observe fire, you want to have multiple unfiltered strong direct light coming from all directions and angles (particularly 45 to 90 degree).

A typical livingroom has one or two light sources often covered with a shade or hat. You may get some fire from daylight entering thru windows, but it depends on the weather and direction of sunray.

I think before you go any further-
can you go to any local jewelry stores to you that have some branded ideal/super ideal diamonds you can look at yours (freshly & immaculately cleaned) next to? In multiple lighting environments?
I get that it might be awkward if you don’t already have a friendly relationship with that jeweler - and be prepared for that jeweler to upsell you on their diamond than yours.
But you can trust your eye and hopefully put your mind to rest?
I get what you paid is not chump change and you want the best for your money.
And beware of asking what’s ‘better’. Ask in a more precise way of what’s towards what you want to see. Some people’s definition of better would include white light return over fire, opposite if what it seems you are asking for.
Best wishes.

I think it looks excellent, but obviously you need to feel the same way. Everyone has different preferences. I agree with @Rfisher that you should consider looking at your stone vs other branded stones (hearts on fire, maybe) to see differences/preferences with your own eyes.

The idealscope images look great to me. My experience is that the background light affects the idealscope image a lot. I am posting mine here for you to compare.
My ring under sunset light (ignore the nail polish please).

What a gorgeous ring!! I think your ideal scope image looks perfect! Maybe the lighting on mine was off

I think the diamond looks great in ideal-scope and on paper..
Cleaning was our earlier advice.
Next do you have any rooms with great spot lighting. You need to have relative darkness and only small point light sources.
If you can - please make a video of the best fire room or at least some photos looking toward the lights from the angle of the diamond.
