Please let me know what the better diamond would be. If you come across something better please post a link. Its a huge decision and i dont have a ton of cash so anything in this range or cheaper would be great. Thanks again

No way to tell as there is no ASET image for the stone, they are from the virtual inventory.

On paper what appears to be the nicer diamond...just need to be pointed in the right direction...if u have another diamond in mind that i should check out let me know.

JB with fancy shapes like this you really need to see them - if that''s not possible then why don''t you contact Whiteflash and ask for their opinion? Heart lovers tend to like symmetry. Some like short fat squat hearts and others like pointy long hearts. Both you have chosen are somewhere in the middle and are more standard heart shapes (so will probably appeal to the majority). The difference in price is so small that I''d be tempted to go with the higher spec diamond. However, please ask the sales people for their opinion.

What I would say is that setting a heart is actually quite challenging. Do you know if your GF has seen a setting or wants something in particular?

Did she specifically ask for a heart? I''m just asking because hearts arent for everyone. Most
people are not into them. A nice heart may be a little harder to find.

Shes really set on the heart...She wants to be different something thats not the norm.is there a certain setting i need to look at that will be better for the diamond? i could use help with that too if thats going to be a problem

I have a lot of respect for AGA's cut charts and cut estimator.

If you go to heart on the drop down list, then scroll to the reference chart at the bottom of the page, you will see that both stones you have listed have a depth that puts them into grade 3B (depth 46.0-55.9%).
Therefore, I would pass on both, without any further consideration; too shallow and will be quite dull stones.

Hearts are not far from a pear shape with a notch in the top.
In my experience, the very best pears have a depth between 61-64%, but other proportions are also part of the quality of the stone; depth alone will not make a good stone.
AGA cut grading suggests an ideal depth of 59-63% for heart and pear.

But heart shapes are not common, so you will be lucky to find one that even manages 1B on AGA's cut grades.

Very good info. I do appreciate this link. But is there anything decent? thats maybe somewhat close to my price range? need some stone opinions or links to what i should be looking at.

Should i convince her this is something to consider? If a nice heart cant be found in my price range..Im not too concerned about the size but want a nice looking diamond for what im able to spend. Thanks as you guys are helping to lesson the blow of buying an engagement ring..lol

Ok...ive tried to talk her out of a heart shaped diamond but no luck...can anyone find me a heart shaped diamond for around the 2k mark that has the numbers im looking for. Im thinking around .7 so if anyone can point me in the right direction i would apprciate it. Ive explained its hard to find a nice heart diamond to her so as long as its decent and has a nice cut it should be fine. i know u guys dont probably get alot of heart diamond questions but my gf is just set on it...Some help would be greatly appreciated.thanks

WF does not have the certificates loaded for hearts in your price range. You
will need to call them or ask them to send you the info so you can compare it with the chart FB sent you the link to.

I checked the depth and table on this one and it might be worth considering...

best bet is to call them and let them know what you are looking for. I check James Allen too but they dont have anything
in your price range that looks good.

EDIT - here is one a tad (ok, $500) over your price...may not be eye clean - you'll have to ask. Also, its an IGI report and not an AGS/GIA
so the color/clarity may also be lower than what it says compared to an AGS/GIA.

I would contact one of the vendors and see what they can find for you, heart shapes aren''t straightforward so the help of an expert vendor would be invaluable.
