help with eternity band size

Hello

First, I would like to say how nice and helpful of you are here-this site is a lifesaver-
I have read some older threads about this, but I am still a bit confused and have a question

I have a 1.1 carat round solitare in a cathedral setting with 3 channel set princess cut diamonds on each side. The princesses total a half carat. I am interested in purchasing a princess cut eternity band from Facets, but have 2 questions.

What is the largest I could go without overpowering my e-ring? I saw one from Facets that is 1.09 total with 31 diamonds and also 1.16 with 31 diamonds-do you think these would be too large? The bands were from 2.9mm wide to 3.1 mm wide which is a bit larger than my e-ring band that is 2.8mm wide.

Also since the side diamonds on my e-ring are channel set do I have to go with a channel set etrnity band because the shared prong ones take my breath away! My husband informed me that this will be my last change for a while,

so I wanna make it large enough without being overpowering.

I don''t think either of those eternity bands will over power your ering. Can you post a pic of your ering? I''d like to see it before I comment on the shared prong VS the channel set eternity bands. Thanks

i agree a picture would be great. I personally like the e-ring and wedding bands to match when the e-ring has side stones or pave verses a 3-stone. But I have seen plenty of non-matching sets on here that look gorgeous. I really think it will come down to your personal preference. I''ll reserve my opinion/vote until I can see a picture

I''m not very computer saavy when it comes to posting pics so I found a setting identical to mine, only this one has 5 princess cuts on each side, while mine has 3-but otherwise it''s exactly the same.

I typed in 2691, and it came up with a setting that had 5 princess cuts on either side instead of 3, is that the one??

Thanks for posting the pics. I have to admit I guess the channel set would match better. I guess I just don''t like channel settings anymore because gosh there''s just something about that shared prong one that takes my breath away! Maybe I should change my e-ring setting as well

I''m not a matchy type person, but I do think the channel set eternity band would look better. I think it would look strange to match the shared prong band with your channel set e-ring. I know that''s not what you wanted to hear. I have a shared prong eternity ring, but all my stones in my e-ring are also prong set. It''s definitely not a matched set, but I think it looks fine together. I tried on a channel set eternity ring with my e-ring, and it looked horrible. You would be doing the opposite, a channel set e-ring with a shared prong eternity ring, but I don''t think you will like that look either. I know signed pieces does offer a full refund within 30 days of purchase, so you could order the shared prong ring to see how it looks, and return it if you don''t like it.

My sister has the same exact e-ring as you and she went with the matching channel set band and it is absolutely gorgeous! I think you made the right choice.

Good choice Bianca!

My old e-ring setting had PC stones in a channel just like yours. I went to Signed Pieces in NY and tried on both the channel and shared prong eternity bands. While I too loved the shared prong band, it just did not compliment my e-ring at all. Best thing is to either just get the channel set eternity band or buy a shared prong band for your right hand
