Hi All,

I'm new to this world and overwhelmed so I'm hoping I can get some help! I'm looking for an engagement ring and looking for the most sparkle. I went to brilliant earth and liked this setting:

I'm wondering if the diamond in that setting is the best I could get in that category? That's one they suggested but I'm open to all suggestions! Budget $3,000-$,3500 for setting and ring combined.

Any thoughts or help is much appreciated!

Congrats! That looks nice. I did a quick search on Diamonds by Lauren and found this one which is a bigger stone with better color and clarity!

If you don’t like that setting I would tell them your budget and let them show you some options. They could easily make the exact setting you want, plus the diamond will be hand selected and amazing quality!

good luck!

Well, congratulations on your upcoming engagement! The setting style you like is lovely.

As far as the diamond - we can't really tell too much without a lab report. The video isn't the highest quality. Still helpful, but the grading report would help with peace of mind.

Also, there have been so many issues with Brilliant Earth's customer service and quality that I'd hesitate to go through them personally.

If you are open to other vendors, this setting from James Allen is similar -

And here is an option for a diamond that already has the grading report and ASET images:

I will echo vintageinjune's comments about Brilliant Earth and would avoid using them if possible.

You could combine this setting:

with either of these diamonds. Both are HPHT with GCAL reports. The first is a GCAL 8x, meaning it has gone through a rigorous cut analysis and scored Excellent in all 8 categories.

Ooo, I found another similar setting that is a bit less expensive on James Allen:

And if you want to hit the 1ct mark , this one looked gorgeous to me:

I found options at another vendor where you can get up to a 1.4ct center. Both are HPHT with excellent proportions.

This setting:

with this 1.4ct:

or this 1.34ct:

These are all great suggestions. I’ve read about the many issues with Brilliant Earth that many PSers have had and I honestly think other vendors have better stones with better prices. I know JA will price match if you find a comparable diamond which is also nice. Congratulations

Last option from me! I think this version of the 3-stone has the most gorgeous profile view!

It could be paired with this diamond:

Lots of great recommendations above!
I especially like the 1.28 E SI1 that Kim N posted and the 1.32 E VS1 that twosanguinehearts posted.

Another PS vetted vendor option for you:

Thank you so much for that recommendation. I like the one you sent and will look into it.

Thank you so much for this post. This is exactly what I was hoping for. I appreciate your advice and your research!

Thanks for the advice. Sounds like JA is becoming a better option for me. This is why I asked this wonderful community!

Thank you so much! I also love the above suggestions and I'm looking through these ones now. They look great too.

I'm definitely open to other vendors and I love the setting and diamond you sent a lot. I'm curious if it's a low ring? I've been told a basket is a good option for me.

Thank you so much for that recommendation. I like the one you sent and will look into it.

My only issue with this diamond is that you want a very well cut, sparkly diamond - this one is rated "very good" cut, and will not perform as well as the other suggestions that have been made.

This one is beautiful. Is it considered cathedral style? Also, do you know if diamond is in a basket? I'm looking for a lower ring. Thanks so much!

This one would sit up a bit higher than a basket set 3 stone, the second setting I linked would sit a bit lower. Basket set 3 prong rings can be made to sit very low to the finger, but the one you linked from Brilliant Earth still has the diamonds up a bit higher and seems fairly equal in terms of height.

Yes, this is a cathedral style with the diamonds each in a basket. You could give them a call and ask how low the diamonds could be set in this setting.
