Let me start off by saying that I'm a young man who just bought a home... In other words, I don't have a ton of money to spend on a ring.
I'm just like everyone else though, I want to get the biggest, nicest ring possible for my money. My budget is around $1700. I could go as high as $2000 but it would have to be a great deal and I would still be somewhat uncomfortable paying that.

I've been looking around on the internet and noticed eBay mentioned several times (I know, I know). Anyway, I found this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=251221524480

I see where it has been clarity enhanced. From what I've read around here, that's one strike against it already to a lot of you. Still, to me, it seems like a good deal. Not to mention the seller has 100% positive feedback and a no questions asked 30 day return policy. I know I wouldn't be getting a top of the line ring but I know that isn't exactly possible on my budget.

So does this seem like a decent enough deal or should I start looking elsewhere?

Thanks! I was beginning to think that was too good to be true. That's certainly a nice diamond. The fact that it isn't as large as the other I was looking at shouldn't be an issue either. Her size is a 3.75 so that should still look pretty big (not that she's shallow and thinks she has to have a huge ring... I just want her to have something she's proud to show off.)

I'm still open to other options if anyone else wants to make a suggestion!

is princess the shape she wants?

It is. Round would work too but princess is what she really wants.

not worth it. what is the cut? who says it is an H VVS1 (it's not.) no upgrade policy if you ever want to upgrade.

I would get this sweetie, totally in your budget with a setting: http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/diamonds/diamond-details/0.687-i-si1-princess-diamond-ags-bl-104062906039

Wow, nice find! I was going to suggest either a colored stone or considering the secondary market, but this is a gorgeous stone and well within your budget!

edit: I just wanted to mention that if you are interested in this stone then you should probably put it on hold asap. Often times recommended stones get snatched up quickly.
