Could any one kindly tell me what is a fair price for this diamond?

GIA
RB
1.000 ct
6.26 x 6.32 x 3.99
G VS1
Girdle: sl thick - thick faceted
Depth 63.4%
Table: 57%
symmetry: vg
polish: vg

The stone is VVS quality but two small natural indentation at the girdle make it a VS. The indentation can only be seen via a 10x loupe. Not many other inclusions, one tiny needle and a tiny pinpoint at the pavillion. Clean top view.

A top down look using H&A viewer shows a very good arrows pattern. No major misalignment. The heart patter is not ideal but one can see some hearts with large clefts.

A look at it through the ideal-scope shows a very-good to excellent light return, with very good symmetry of the arrows. There are no major leakages at the girdle and table.

I would take a picture but with my basic ideal-scope, it is quite a challenge.

Managed to get a crappy ideal scope picture of it. Feel free to laugh at my poor photographic skills.

The stone is deep. That, coupled w/ the thick girdle, will make the appearance of this stone to be much smaller than a better cut 1c. The mm diameter should be closer to 6.5mm.

I'd pass unless it was priced as a .80 stone. Also, I would consider going g/h VS2-SI1 stone with a better cut.

I do understand that this stone is a little deep and a small diameter

. If given a choice, I would like to get an AGS0 H&A. Let's just say that through a series of freak incidents, I am stuck with this stone.

I guess a consolation would be that I paid a fair price for it.

To my surprise the ideal scope image looks pretty decent. I always thought deep stone with thick girdle would do badly on the ideal scope.

Did I not use the ideal-scope correctly? Perhaps somebody with better experience with the ideal-scope can advice.

Nay... I am not sure this one should be replaced for any reason (unless you are a particularly ardent fan of AGS). The picture shows very, very internal nice symmetry - otherwise the arrows would not be there and the other visula clues

in the picture would not line up so nicely.

True enough, this is a perfectly symmetry dispaly of slightly different proportions than would be needed to complete twose arrows. So what? There is enough red and black in the pic to persuade me that the stone is definitelly successful at producing light return. and it's got the right amount of white too boot.

However... well, you must be able to see through the 'scope more than we can in the pic

I 'guess' this piece looks very much alike the "very good" picture on the Ideal-Scope Chart (LINK).

I was just wandering where would this fall between THESE types
