Hello everyone, I ahve been a long time reader of this forum (for about 6 months) and have been trying to educate myself in the ways of the diamond. First, this forum is brilliant, I have learned so much already and the people seem so polite and honest, as well as having great expertise. Thankyou for everythig I have learned so far.......
I am starting to look towards popping the big question to my other half, but first need to arrange the all important ring........
I have spent 6 months on this forum reading and learning, as well as looking at vendors such as WF and GOG etc.
My issue is that I am not on an unlimited budget (looking at around $3000 for the diamond along with some extra towards a simple white gold/platinum setting).
So, I am trying to balance the SIZE of the stone with the QUALITY.
I have been sticking to the WF stones (although have looked at other sites) - mainly because I want to have one place provide the stone and the setting (looking at the legato sleek lines setting from Wf). apart from that specific setting, WhiteFlash appear to have a great reputation amongst PSersfor their settings.
Can people give me an opinion on this stone

To me (non-diamond expert) it looks pretty reasonable, and comes up as excellent (1.2) on the Holloway Cut Advisor for light return fire, and scintillation with a very good for spread.
This to me appears to be a good balance between size and quality, with an AGS Excellent (1) cut.
Two things bother me:
1) the AGS report lists ''negligible flourescence (bloody spelling!!); and
2) colour of H
My main concern with these 2 things is that I want either a white gold setting or a platinum setting, and I am concerned that any colour in the stone will be more prominent with these metals than they would be with yellow gold.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I have so many other questions, but think that will do for a start!!
Once again, great forum people and thankyou all in advance!!
