Help with Diamond please

Hi guys first time poster. I've ordered my (hopefully) future wife a diamond already from blue nile. Unfortunately I didn't quite read enough about the diamond proportions before I did this - assuming that an 'excellent' cut would be great providing it had a good HCA score (which it did).

I'm a little concerned that this diamond might be too deep and this might ruin its appearance and sparkle. It doesn't actually get dispatched for over a week so I've still got time to change the stone if needed! Looking at the price it seems a little cheaper than similar others which might explain it.

Any advice guys? Ideally I'm looking at a ~2carat G colour VS1-2 round diamond.

I might have messed up that hyperlinking - here's the measurements of the diamonds

Diamond 1:

Round Brilliant, 2.00 carat H colour, VS1.

8.02x8.06x4.99

Table 57%

Depth 62.1

Crown angle 36

Pav Angle 40.6



Diamond 2 (cheaper by ~1k and my current pic)

Round brilliant 2.00 carat H colour Vs1

7.92x8.03x5.04

Table 55%

Depth 63.2

Crown Angle 35.5

Pav Angle 40.6


Obviously the depth a bit much on the second one, but the other one has quite a large crown angle.
Any ideas anyone? I've spent hours trying to work this out but I'm failing miserably!

You're trading off face up spread with your current choice. Angles are more complimentary though.

What is your budget?

Around GBP 16-17k but could push it up a little for the right diamond

I personally like a lot what you ordered. I wouldn't change it. Your second option is worse.

I've ordered 'diamond 2' (ie the one with the 63.2 depth) - was that the one you meant was better?
