Hi there:

Thanks in advance to the PriceScope community. My brother bought his engagement ring a couple of years ago based on the amazing advice from the threads here. I was hoping for a couple opinions on a few diamonds I'm looking at:

#1
1.78 ct
J
SI2
Excellent cut / polish / symmetry
Measurements: 7.83 - 7.86 x 4.75 mm
60% table, 60.5% depth, 32.5 crown angle, 41.4 pavilion angle
Medium girdle
(I've seen this diamond in person, and it's eye-clean. A really nice stone for an SI2.)

#2
1.71 ct
I
SI2
Excellent cut / polish / symmetry
Measurements: 7.65 - 7.71 x 4.75 mm
57% table, 61.8% depth, 35.5 crown angle, 41.0 pavilion angle
Thin-medium girdle
(I haven't seen this diamond yet; I've asked for a photo. It's reported as eye-clean.)

#3
2.20 ct
J
SI2
Excellent cut / polish / symmetry (medium blue fluorescence)
Measurements: 8.30 - 8.32 x 5.15 mm
57% table, 62.0% depth, 35.0 crown angle, 41.0 pavilion angle
Medium-slightly thick girdle
(This is obviously a significantly larger diamond; I'm just curious about it in case my bonus comes through and my budget is bigger than planned).

Are there any red flags with these diamonds, just based on the measurements? The HCA on all of these comes out to Very Good, and only #1 has a table % that's slightly larger than "recommended." But I was hoping to get an opinion from someone much more experienced.

Thank you again for your help!

assuming that these are all GIA graded stones, I would say #3 seems like a better choice based off numbers.

I would take eye cleanliness with a pinch of salt. SI2 at these sizes are rarely eye clean to me. With sufficient time (5 minutes of staring with my naked eye), I can spot inclusions and once I had seen it, I can't un-see it.

thanks for the response. i definitely wouldn't buy #2 without seeing it myself first.

just in case, is there anything in the GIA report that should scare me away from #2? i've attached it. . .1090936_round_excellent_cut_i_si2_certificate.jpg
