Hi all,

First time poster. Long time lurker. Looking for an engagement ring diamond. This is my first time buying a diamond ring. Form my understanding CUT is king so I have decided to go with Whiteflash ACA. I have been looking at 2 diamonds but am not sure which is the better value. I would appreciate to know what the people in this forum think and provide your opinion.

Both are I color. The second one is VS2 in clarity and the magnification in the video seem to show the inclusion quite obviously but I am not sure if it is eye clean.

Thank you all for you feedback.

It's going to be 100% eyeclean. You are talking about something the size of a pencil eraser. Those are small white inclusions and it is a VS2.

You are fine with that diamond in terms of inclusions. Save the $800 and put it toward the setting.

I am on my phone. Can't tell. Does it have an eyeclean 'badge' -- WF lists on thier site (regular not mobile) if it is eyeclean. Call tomorrow and talk to them about the stone. Best way to do it. They can have you talk to a gemologist actually looking at the stone.

It has the eye clean badge on the description of the stone. As Gypsy stated, call tomorrow and have them look at the stone for you to confirm their definition of eye clean for this stone. Good luck to you. :wavey:

Ask them to examine the stone according to YOUR definition. For example, from the side and/or distance less than typical 6 to 8 inches.

So I spoke to Whiteflash and they have said that it would not be eye clean based on my definition. I went back searching for a diamond. I have now shortlisted the following 2 diamonds

First one is a 1.53ct H VS1 ACA
http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-3635962.htm

Second is a 1.7ct H VS2 Expert Selection
http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-3048657.htm

The 1.7ct is clearly not cut as good as the 1.53ct. Should I be sacrificing cut for carat size? I was leaning heavily towards the ACA diamond but the size of the Expert Selection is really tempting. Which one of the two would you choose? Thanks for all your input once again.
