Help with dating necklace?

I was wondering if anyone could help me to date this necklace. I'm not sure how old it is. The stones look to be lapis (if they're genuine), and tarnish came off when I rubbed the metal with a silver polishing cloth. I wasn't able to find any markings.

I would say this is tribal jewelry, maybe from Afghanistan.
Afghanistan is famous for lapis. Probably set in some kind of coin silver.
I can't tell you the age, though.
